Catchfly None-So-Pretty Silene Armeria is an attractive annual or tender perennial native to Europe. Also called Sweet William Catchfly, this plant is one of the very easiest wildflowers to grow. Catchfly seeds can be sown throughout the season. Silene Armeria grows quickly and blooms in just 6 - 8 weeks after germination producing rose-purple clusters of small flowers. Catchfly blooms heavily attracting butterflies and bees.

Catchfly None-so-Pretty is very good in meadows or standing alone, and Catchfly makes a breathtaking display when planted in mass. Silene Armeria seeds are small, so they have to be just slightly pressed into bare soil. Catchfly can be grown in full sun or partial shade, and the plant is good at re-seeding itself if seed falls on bare ground; otherwise, Catchfly plant lives only one year. In USDA Zone 7 or warmer, early fall sowings produce crowns that usually over-winter and bloom the following year.
