Alpine Toadflax Linaria Alpina is a short-leaved perennial or biennial alpine plant native to mountain ranges in southern and central Europe. If started indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost, it is recommended to refrigerate Linaria Alpina seeds for 2-3 weeks prior sowing. Alpine Toadflax grows low to the ground, trailing and creating a beautiful carpet of succulent-like looking, green-gray foliage with narrow leaves. Linaria Alpina blooms all summer long, and masses of bright, snapdragon-like, blue-purple flowers with a contrasting golden-orange lip are eye-catching.

Alpine Toadflax is a must have plant for alpine and rock gardens, but it is also great for container plantings, edging, mass planting, and as a compact ground cover. Alpine Toadflax seeds germinate in 14-21 days, and once established Linaria Alpina is an easy to care perennial flower that grows well in full sun and sandy, well drained soil. Alpine Toadflax reseeds itself freely.
