Catnip Lemon Nepeta Cataria Citriodora is very similar hardy perennial herb to the more common Catnip plant and is considered to be a sister plant. The Catnip Lemon seeds can be started indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost or directly outdoors after last frost, and this Nepeta Cataria variety grows slightly smaller than other catnips. Lemon Catnip has soft grey-green foliage and stalks of beautiful white to blue flowers that are lemon scented and attractive to beneficial insects including honey bees and butterflies.

Catnip Lemon brings a lemony scent to a landscape or garden, and as a herb, this Catnip is used fresh or dried in herbal medicine for its sedative properties, or it can make an excellent tea plant with a pleasant lemon-minty flavor and calming effect. Nepeta Cataria Citriodora seeds are very easy to germinate, and established Lemon Catnip tolerates drought and partial shade growing well in almost any kind of soil if a good drainage is provided. Nepeta plants are recommended to be trimmed a few times during the growing season to neaten them up and encourage more blooms.
