Fountain Grass Rose Pink Pennisetum Ruppelii is one of the few annual ornamental grasses, and it is native to Africa. Fountain Grass Rose Pink seeds germinate fast, and this ornamental grass can be grown as a perennial in USDA zones 8-10, but everywhere else the plant is grown as an annual. Also known as Pennisetum Setaceum, the Rose Fountain Grass features showy and attractive mounding foliage with cascading effect and blooms in summer and fall with arching, 12 inch long, fuzzy, rosy-pink plumes that seem to float on a top of 2 feet tall, spinach-green stalks.

Fountain Grass Rose Pink is perfect for accent planting, and its rich rosy-pink colored flowers bring beauty to any landscape setting, but it is also a popular ornamental grass for growing in borders, containers, and pots. Pennisetum Ruppelii seeds have to be just slightly covered after surface sowing, and Pennisetum Setaceum grows best in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils and full sun tolerating part shade. The Pink Fountain Grass readily reseeds itself.
