Ice Plant Gelato Orange Dorotheanthus Bellidiformis is a succulent, tender perennial flower native to desert areas of South Africa. The plant is grown as a perennial in USDA zones 9-11, and everywhere else it is treated as an annual. If Ice Plant Gelato Orange seeds are started indoors 10-12 weeks before last frost, there is more time for the plant to establish itself and bloom longer. Other common names of Dorotheanthus Bellidiformis are Livingstone Daisy and Fig Marigold. Ice Plant Gelato Orange is a fast spreading creeper that forms a dense carpet of succulent, ovate, light-green leaves, and blooms with highly attractive, shiny, daisy-like, orange flowers with a dark eye.

Ice Plant Gelato Orange is very easy to establish as a perennial or annual flowering ground cover, and Orange Levingstone Daisy looks marvelous growing in mass plantings, seaside gardens, containers, border fronts, alpine and rock gardens, and sunny slops. Dorotheanthus Bellidiformis seeds are easy to germinate, and they do not need any special treatment before sowing the seeds. Ice Plant Gelato Orange grows and spreads fast thriving in full sun and average to poor, sandy, gravelly, dry to medium well drained soil and tolerating drought well.
