Morning Glory Dwarf Ensign Red Convolvulus Tricolor Minor is an old-fashioned European native flowering annual plant. Morning Glory Dwarf Ensign Red seeds have a hard coat, so nicking the seed coat with a knife tip or rubbing seeds with a piece of sandpaper and soaking the seeds overnight in warm water will speed up and improve germination. Convolvulus Tricolor Minor makes a bright display in a garden growing quickly and forming neat little mounds of tri-colored flowers which are red with a yellow-and-white starburst pattern in the throat.

Morning Glory Dwarf Ensign Red is a traditional bedding plant, and it is excellent for massing, edging, hanging baskets, container, borders, window boxes, rock gardens, and as an annual ground cover. In tropical climates such as central and south Florida Convolvulus Tricolor Minor seeds can be planted directly in fall, but elsewhere, the direct sowing has to be in spring after the soil has warmed. Dwarf Morning Glory prefers to grow in full sun and average or poor, moist but well-drained soil. Convolvulus Tricolor flower is deer resistant, self-seeding and heat and drought tolerant.
