Nodding Pink Onion Allium Cernuum is a perennial herb native to North America. Nodding Pink Onion seeds can be started indoors or directly outdoors, and also commonly called Lady's Leek, Allium Cernuum forms clumps of flat, narrow, grass-like leaves and blooms with small, bell-shaped, pink flowers which appear in loose, nodding clusters atop erect, leafless stems rising above the foliage. The blooming Nodding Onion attracts butterflies and hummingbirds.

Nodding Pink Onion can be found on ledges, in dry meadows, gravel, rocky or wooded slopes, and this fragrant flowering perennial plant is ideal for cottage and rock gardens, borders, and plantings in naturalized areas. If started indoors or directly outdoors in spring, the Allium Cernuum seeds have to be refrigerated for 60 days prior sowing. Once established, Nodding Pink Onion thrives in average, dry to medium, well-drained soil in full sun to light shade. Allium Cernuum re-seeds itself and re-grows if the seeds fall on the bare ground. Nodding Pink Onion is edible and can be used raw in seasoning and salads, and its bulbs can be eaten raw, boiled or pickled.
