Rose Mallow White Lavatera Trimestris is a hardy annual plant native to Europe. Rose Mallow White seeds can be started indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost, or directly outdoors in spring or fall. Also called Tree Mallow, Annual Mallow, Royal Mallow, and Malva Trimestris, Lavatera Trimestris features bushy, attractive, deep green foliage with rounded leaves and produces masses of extra large, trumpet-shaped, hibiscus-like, white flowers. The plant blooms profusely for weeks from mid-summer to late fall, and bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds like to visit the blooming Rose Mallow.

Rose Mallow White is an old time favorite annual flower for growing in cottage gardens, flower beds, cutting gardens, annual borders, and containers. Lavatera Trimestris seeds have to be kept moist until germination, and the fast growing White Rose Mallow is very adaptable to various soil conditions, including clay. Tree Mallow grows best in full sun, re-seeds itself, and makes a great cut flower.
