Sedge Pendulous Fresh Look Carex Pendula is an ornamental, evergreen, perennial grass that is native to western, central and southern parts of Europe. Sedge Pendulous Fresh Look seeds need light to germinate, so the seeds have to be just barely covered with topsoil, not deeper than 1/8 of inch. Commonly called Drooping Sedge, Hanging Sedge, and Weeping Sedge, Carex Pendula forms dense, bushy, 36-48 inches tall clumps of the long, dark green leaves that cascade downward beautifully. The attractive foliage is topped by the flowering, brown, catkin like, pendulous spikes on slender stems that appear in late spring.

Sedge Pendulous Fresh Look makes an amazing accent plant that is perfect for large containers and pots, for naturalizing, or for mixed border. Carex Pendula seeds germinate approximately in two weeks, and the established Drooping Sedge grows well in full sun or partial shade and dry or moist soil.
