Anthyllis Red Carpet Anthyllis Vulneraria Coccinea is a short-lived perennial that makes an excellent ground cover plant. Also known as Red Kidney Vetch and Lady's Fingers, Anthyllis Red Carpet can be started from seeds indoors or outdoors, and this lovely flowering, low-trailing plant produces eye-popping, orange-red flowers over bluish-green leaves. Anthyllis blooms from late spring to mid summer for many weeks, especially in cool summer regions, and its flowers attract butterflies and bees.

Red Kidney Vetch is an easy-to-grow alpine or rock garden plant, great accent plant in containers, and it is also a great choice for edging dry and sunny borders. Anthyllis Vulneraria Coccinea grows best in full sun and well-drained soil tolerating drought and adapting to poor soil conditions. Anthyllis re-seeds itself, but the plant is not considered to be invasive.
