Coneflower Purple Echinacea Purpurea is a showy, clump forming, herbaceous perennial. If the Purple Coneflower seeds are started indoors, the cold stratification can boost the germination rate. Coneflower Purple is 2-3 feet tall plant that features foliage with long, tapering with a rough-toothed edge leaves and produces large, daisy-like flowers with swept back reddish-purple rays and domed, purplish-brown, spiny centers. Coneflower blooms in summer attracting bees and butterflies, and as perennial Coneflower Purple dies to the ground in winter and sprouts back in spring.
