Gazania Garden Leader White Gazania Rigens is a short-lived perennial plant native of South Africa. Starting Gazania Garden Leader White seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost will help to establish the pant and bring it to bloom as early as possible. Commonly called Treasure Flower, Gazania Rigens grows in compact clumps 8-12 inches tall featuring foliage with finally lobed, from dark-green to dark-grey leaves and blooming all season long with large, daisy-like, white flowers with yellow centers. The numerous, bright and showy Gazania flowers seat on a top of protruding above foliage 6-10 inches flower stems attracting butterflies and bees.

Gazania Garden Leader White is grown as an annual in most regions or as perennial in USDA zones 8-11, and Treasure Flower makes a great bedding plant, flowering ground cover. Because of its trailing habit Gazania is one of the best flowers for growing in hanging baskets, window boxes, and containers. As an accent plant, Treasure Flower is often grown in rock gardens, along driveways and sidewalks, and in the front of the border. Gazania Rigens seeds are easy to germinate, and Treasure Flower White grows relatively fast tolerating all types of soil, and thriving in full sun if moderate watering is provided.
