Johnny Jump Up Viola Cornuta is a compact annual or short-lived perennial, native to Spain and the Pyrenees Mountains. Johnny Jump Up seeds can be started directly outdoors in spring or fall, and also commonly called Horned Violet, Viola Tricolor grows low to the ground and produces vibrant blooms that are deep purple and yellow, creating a solid carpet of color for weeks all season long. Johnny Jump Up can flower all winter in areas with mild climate. 

Johnny Jump Up has been used extensively in floral gardens for a long time, and Viola is popular flower for planting in containers, pots, hanging baskets, as a companion for spring bulbs, rock gardens, borders. If Viola Cornuta seeds are started indoors, it is advisable to stratify the seeds prior sowing. Johnny Jump Up grows best in full sun or partial shade and fertile, rich soil with plenty of moisture, but good drainage.
