Chocolate Flower Berlandiera Lyrata is a herbaceous perennial that belongs to the Aster family. Chocolate Flower seeds can be started indoors in winter or earlier spring, and another common names of this plant are Chocolate Daisy, Lyre Leaf Greeneyes, and Green-Eyed Lyre Leaf. Berlandiera Lyrata grows up to 18 inches tall, and the mature plant spreads to 24 inches across. Chocolate Daisy has chocolate-scented, gray-green foliage with chocolate-colored flower stems and produces masses of cocoa-scented, daisy-like flowers with bright yellow petals and maroon centers. Chocolate Flower blooms in spring and summer attracting bees, butterflies and birds. 

Chocolate Flower is most impressive and most scented when this flower is planted in groups. Chocolate Daisy can be grown in perennial borders, rock gardens, or can be used as an informal edging plant. Berlandiera Lyrata seeds can be planted directly outdoors in spring or fall, and Chocolate Flower grows best in full sun preferring average, dry, well-drained soil. Lyre Leaf Greeneyes flower is extremely heat, drought tolerant and survives the toughest conditions. Chocolate Daisy is a superb cut or dried flower.
