Sedum Emperor's Wave Stonecrop Sedum Telephium is a succulent, herbaceous perennial native to Eastern Europe, China, and Japan. Sedum Emperor's Wave seeds can be started indoors 6-8 weeks prior the last frost. Also commonly called Emperor's Wave Stonecrop, this highly decorative plant grows upright reaching 14-16 inches in height and featuring succulent foliage of thick, toothed, elliptic, bluish-green leaves. Starting in summer Sedum Emperor's Wave blooms with umbrella-like mounds of small carmine flowers on sturdy, fleshy flower stems.
Sedum Emperor's Wave Stonecrop looks fabulous when it is planted in groups, large rock gardens, border fronts, and containers. The surface sowing is applied to Sedum Telephium seeds, so the seeds have to be just slightly pressed into the soil. Emperor's Wave Stonecrop thrives in full sun and sandy, gravely, average, dry or medium but well-drained soil, and once established this sedum is drought tolerant.
